Preis für Deutschlandticket bleibt stabil
The conference of transport ministers today confirmed that the states will continue to finance half of the subsidy. In parallel, the states expect to use last year's savings to keep ticket prices stable, said Saxony-Anhalt's Transport Minister Dr. Lydia Hüskens after today's meeting. "We also want to extend the possibility of using the funds for more than one year to the coming year in order to limit price increases," Hüskens explained. This would require a rapid amendment of the Regionalization Funding Act by the federal government.
On the basis of current forecasts on cost developments and sales figures, and thus on the need for subsidies, the Conference of Transport Ministers intends to set the price for 2025 in the second half of the year.
"In order to stabilize the price of the ticket, I would argue that the price of the Deutschlandticket should no longer be determined politically in the future, but should follow the general price increase or something similar," said Lydia Hüskens, looking ahead to future developments. "In addition to the overriding question of price, we must also consider keeping the costs of technical support for the ticket within reasonable limits," she concluded.
