DELTa

Digitisation of the lignite regions with DELFI tariff

The project "Digitalisation of the Lignite Regions with DELFI Tariff" (DELTa) aims to provide standardised tariff information for public transport between the lignite mining regions throughout Germany. Public transport users are to receive integrated route information with high-quality real-time timetable and tariff data for their journeys between the Central German coalfields and the lignite regions participating in the project.

For this purpose, NASA's own INSA information system will be adapted. The long-term goal of the project is to increase the use of interregional public transport and to make the regions more attractive to tourists.

The digitalisation of data processing procedures and the improvement of the quality and completeness of fare information between the German lignite mining regions will be promoted. NASA GmbH is particularly concerned with the issue of quality assurance for tariff, timetable and network data in the context of correct tariff calculation.

As part of the mFUND research initiative, the BMDV has been funding research and development projects related to data-based digital applications for Mobility 4.0 since 2016. In addition to financial support, the mFUND supports the networking of stakeholders from politics, business and research with various event formats and access to the mCLOUD data portal.
